A Joyous Feast to all! St Nicholas guard us with your prayers!
Above Image of St. Nicholas “Lipensky” (from Lipnya Church of St. Nicholas in Novgorod) Northwest Parishes dedicated to St Nicholas:
Saint Nicholas Russian Orthodox Cathedral in Seattle, Sfântul Nicolae in BC, St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Portland, St Nicholas and Dimitrios in Vancouver, BC, St Nicholas in Vancouver, BC, and St Nicholas in Tacoma.
If anyone has pictures of Saint Nicholas sightings or activities from their parish I would like to post them. Please contact me, spasiba.
If I may on this great Feast of St Nicholas be permitted to mention a Church not in the Northwest. But rather a Church that no longer stands in the NorthEast. The former St Nicholas Parish Church at the Financial District in Wall Street (Ground Zero).
While not a Northwest Church it was dedicated to St Nicholas, whose boots, can be heard approaching tonite. I stopped and prayed in there years ago. It was a small, prayerful, Church with Icons and the smell of incense. It was at that time, open for prayer for whoever, wanted to stop in, and dedicate some time to God. A friend and I had walked the streets of New York and came upon this oasis of prayer and quiet in a hectic and bustling city. Sadly, this Church no longer exists. If we Orthodox Christians regardless of jurisdiction, work together, we can change that. Thank you. St. Nicholas Church » Home
Merry Christmas.
