Chanters of St Panteleimon from Tiblisi, Georgia and local Music Group Dolce Canto Performing May 1st in Missoula, Montana

Chanters of Church of St. Panteleimon the Healer appearing with Dolce Canto, at 7:00 pm, Music Recital Hall at the University of Montana. Please call  406-544-4923 for more information.  Tickets are $15.00 and $10.00 for students.  They will sing both Liturgical and Folk music.

The Chanters appeared in the Missoula 2009 choral festival and were enthusiastically received and have been invited back for this perfomance.   Thank you to Dolce Canto for sharing this information and making this concert possible.  Thanks also to the cooperation of the Music Dept of the University of MontanaThe Montana Arts Council and the generous financial suppport of the University Montana International Programs and Central and Southwest Asia Study Center.  For those not familiar with Georgian Liturgical Music it is hauntingly beautiful, ethereal and peaceful.  The sound is very different than the more familiar Byzantine and Russian styles.  For more info on Georgian Chant see the Georgian Chant Website. (they will also appear in Portland May 7th)
