Rachmaninoff Vigil Jan 6th and Jan 8th by Cappella Romana

RACHMANINOFF VIGIL – The All-Night Vigil (“Vespers”) by Sergei
Rachmaninoff, to be sung by Cappella Romana, directed by Alexander
Lingas.  These performances feature not only Rachmaninoff’s brilliant
settings of Znamenny and Kievan chants, but also selections for
Christmastide by Kastalsky and Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff’s teachers,
filling out the program as if it were sung as an actual Vigil.
Artistic director Alexander Lingas conducts these historic
performances in celebration of Cappella Romana’s 20th-anniversary
season. Single prices start at $27; $22 for students and seniors.
