Images from the 30th Anniversary of the New Russian Martyrs in Mulino

Happy Maslenitsa to All!

It was a joy to attend the celebrations in Mulino, Oregon of the first Parish in the world dedicated to the New Russian Holy Martyrs (FB) Feast Day Feb 4 and 5th 2012.  The small Church was overflowing and the inside was literally packed like sardines.  Metropolitan Hilarion officiated at the services.  We were also blessed with the presence of the Miraculous Kursk Root Icon.  Additionally we heard for the first time the Troparion to the  Newly Glorified Alexander Schmorrel, of the White Rose Movement that stood up against the Nazis in World War II.  On a personnel note it was a pleasure meeting people of other parishes, and especially the photographer Sergei Kalfov who has shared his photo albums with this website and of the editor of Orthodox Portland Alexei Kalfov.   Here are the links to the photos of the event: Vigil, Liturgy part 1, Liturgy part 2, Liturgy 3Procession 1, Procession 2, Procession 3, and the closing Akathist.  Here is a sermon on the New Russian Martyrs from Fr Sergei from 2010.  May the Prayers of all New Russian Martyrs sustain us and inspire us to always Witness to the Resurrection of Christ.

A boy with unruly hair being blessed by the Metropolitan at the Vigil Feb 4th of the New Russian Martyrs from the Churches photo page. Does anyone recognize this unruly hair boy?
