Holy Trinity Parish established 1896 in Wilkinson celebrates it’s 110’th Consecration Anniversary this Sept 22’nd with Bishop Benjamin serving a Hierarchical Liturgy. The parish was visited and partially founded by Archimandrite Sebastian Dabovich and Consecrated by St Tikhon. It is the oldest parish building in the Northwest and of historical and Spiritual significance to all Orthodox in the area. It has recently undergone a 3 year renovation and is ready for the upcoming celebration. At the reception/luncheon (advanced purchase required due to limited seating) after Liturgy there will be a Presentation with photos and history of the Parish. “In 1900 Saint Tikhon preached a sermon in which he described our first parishioners as “Arabs, Greeks and Slavs,” together with “Uniates [Byzantine Rite Catholics] who had reunited and were living in Wilkeson.” “(from the OCA website) A more complete history of the parish can be found here on the OCA website ; and an even more complete history here from the Holy Resurrection Parish Website . Holy Resurrection in Tacoma is the “daughter Parish” actively outreaching to the Tacoma area. The Holy Resurrection site has the full details of the Celebration. If any readers go please share your thoughts and any pictures you might take. Oh and I could use some attractive shots of the inside and outside of just the Church for the Pilgrimage and NW Images pages. Ty. (editorOrthodoxNorthwest@gmail.com)
