Holy Trinity Parish in Wilkeson celebrated it’s 110’th Consecration Anniversary Sept 22’nd 2012 with Bishop Benjamin serving a Hierarchical Liturgy. The parish was visited and partially founded by Archimandrite Sebastian Dabovich and Consecrated by St Tikhon. It is the
first Parish oldest Orthodox Church building in the Northwest and of historical and Spiritual significance to all Orthodox in the area. (Holy Trinity Parish was established in 1896; Both St Nicholas in Portland and St Spiridon in Seattle were established in 1895 and are older Parishes.-Thank you to Fr John Pierce of Holy Resurrection in Tacoma for the update/clarification) “In 1900 Saint Tikhon preached a sermon in which he described our first parishioners as “Arabs, Greeks and Slavs,” together with “Uniates [Byzantine Rite Catholics] who had reunited and were living in Wilkeson.” “(from the OCA website) A more complete history is available here on the Holy Resurrection Parish Website . Holy Resurrection in Tacoma is the active “daughter Parish” in the Tacoma area. Many thanks to Kira Kyriake Miller who took and shared these photos.
I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord. Ps 122:
I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD. 2 Our feet shall stand within thy gates, O Jerusalem. 3 Jerusalem is builded as a city that is compact together: 4 Whither the tribes go up , the tribes of the LORD, unto the testimony of Israel, to give thanks unto the name of the LORD. 5 For there are set thrones of judgment, the thrones of the house of David. 6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee. 7 Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces. 8 For my brethren and companions’ sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee. 9 Because of the house of the LORD our God I will seek thy good. Ps 122
Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people. Is 56: 7
And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altarwhich was before the throne. Rev 8:3
