In September 2011 Cappella Romana toured Greece, performing this program at the international Festival of Sacred Music of Patmos (Φεστιβάλ Φρησκευτικής Μουσικής Πάτμου) and on the island of Paros at the 6th-century Church of 100 Doors and in the village church of Áspro Chorió, where the ensemble recorded the disc, “Live in Greece.”
A 1,000-year journey from Constantinople to California, with ancient Byzantine chants, musical encounters with Crusaders and Venetians, and choral works by Californian Greek Americans Frank Desby and his peers. Then experience the mystical ecstasy of music by Athenian composer Michael Adamis (Αιωνία η μνήμη 1929-2013).
