Annual Marguerite Frances Sylvia Art Exhibit at HACCM in Portland Invitation for May 1-28, 2014

The Hellenic-American Cultural Center & Museum invites you to our annual Marguerite Frances Sylvia exhibit — “Sylvia’s World.” This year’s exhibit reflects the artist’s more mature paintings from her collection of over 90 works. Don’t miss this opportunity to view the works of an extraordinary artist. The exhibit will remain up through May 28th.  Here is the Pdf latest newsletter from the museum:  MuseLetterSpring2014

“These extraordinary paintings depict every day life in the village of Molivos on the island of Lesbos.  The artist lived in the village for the last 10 years of her life and was much loved by her neighbors and friends.   She captured their stories with simple, strong brush strokes.

For more information about the paintings, the artist’s life, and Giclee reproductions of the paintings in the Sylvia collection, visit our website Hellenic American Cultural Center and Museum.“(from a past post)
