Third Sunday of the Great Lent: Adoration of Cross. Tone six.

The 42 Martyrs of Ammoria in Phrygia, including: Constantine, Aetius, Theophilus, Theodore, Melissenus, Callistus, Basoes, and others (845).  Venerable Job (Joshua in Schema) of Solovki (1720).  The uncovering of the Precious Cross and the Precious Nails by Empress St. Helen (326).

It seemed fitting on this Day that we adore the Cross that we see a Beautiful Cross raised over the Seattle Area.

 ‘On December 10, 2011, the Armenian Apostolic Church of Seattle celebrated a truly historic and blessed day. His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian of the Western Diocese travelled to Seattle to perform the Door Opening and Cross Blessing Ceremonies. Then the Cross was raised onto our new Church’s roof.
