Posts Delayed Due to Death and Moving! A Joyous Lent to All! Καλή Σαρακοστή! 2019 I

Great Martyr Theodore Tyro (306) (movable holiday on Saturday of the 1st week of the Great Lent).

Καλή Σαρακοστή !

Dear Readers,

There are posts I wish to put up, but I have been busy with my mother dying and passing away this week.  And I am in the process of moving out of my home.  I will post when able.

If anyone is interested in being a coeditor please let me know!  : )

I did get out for a few hours to Palouse falls to attempt a kite flight I will post a photo when able.  It was a beautiful day.  A lovely way to start Lent.  Asking your prayers and patience .Anthony

The lenten spring has come!
   the light of repentance;
Let us, brothers, cleanse ourselves from all evil,
crying out to the Giver of Light:
Glory to Thee, O Lover of man…

Let us begin the time of fasting in light!
Preparing ourselves for the spiritual efforts.
Let us purify our soul; let us purify our body.
As from food, let us abstain from all passion
and enjoy the virtues of the spirit,
So that perfected in time by love
We may all be made worthy to see
the Passion of Christ and the Holy Pascha
In spiritual joy!  Lenten Text

I’m sorry to hear about the death of your mother. May her memory be eternal!

You do an amazing job here; I wish I could be helpful to you with the blog, but I’ve been working on a couple of other Orthodox projects online and I can’t add anything more without going crazy. 😦
